London Chinese Dance School
Founded over thirteen years ago, London Chinese Dance School is dedicated to promoting Chinese dance and culture in the UK and across Europe. In partnership with the UK Chinese Dance & Culture Association, the school has participated in numerous high-profile performances supported by Chinese embassies across Europe and the UK.
With over 300 students, we provide a vibrant learning environment where tradition meets creativity. We regularly collaborate with renowned Chinese and British choreographers and instructors to offer professional-level training and stage opportunities, ensuring students receive both high-quality education and performance experience.
Our Story
London Chinese Dance School was founded with the vision of cultivating a high-level Chinese dance education platform in the UK—one that not only preserves the beauty of tradition but also encourages innovation and excellence in performance.
Under the direction of Founder and School Director Yuxia Zhang, who also established the UK Chinese Dance & Culture Association, the school has grown into a community of over 300 students and 25 performers. Zhang’s long-standing commitment to Chinese cultural education and her experience in producing large-scale performances across Europe has positioned the school as a leader in the field.
Led by Artistic Director Tianyi Li, an accomplished choreographer known for her cross-cultural approach and contemporary interpretation of Chinese dance, the school has become a hub for professional training and artistic exploration. Li works closely with the school to provide choreography and artistic guidance rooted in professional dance company standards.
The school collaborates regularly with internationally recognised choreographers and performers from both the UK and China. Through these partnerships, it has developed professional-level productions that are staged at major cultural festivals and embassy-supported events. Many of these works are ensemble-based, original productions crafted specifically for the school’s performance company.
London Chinese Dance School is more than a place to learn dance—it is a training ground for the next generation of professional performers, rooted in heritage and shaped by artistic excellence.
