Artistic Approach
Through this long-term collaboration, the school has played a vital role in promoting Chinese dance to diverse UK audiences, elevating public appreciation of traditional and contemporary Chinese movement arts. It also provides a platform for British-Chinese artists to express identity, heritage, and innovation through performance.
As a key contributor to the UK Chinese New Year Gala—the largest Spring Festival celebration in the UK—London Chinese Dance School has presented a wide range of high-level performances for thirteen consecutive years. Supported by the Chinese Embassy and widely attended by the public, media, and cultural institutions, the event features both live stage productions and televised broadcasts. The school contributes original works across classical, folk, and contemporary Chinese dance, showcasing the highest standard of Chinese dance within the UK Chinese community and featuring both youth and professional-level performers. Each year, the event is also supported by the Mayor of London, who regularly attends to celebrate the cultural contributions of the Chinese community. Through this platform, the school plays an essential role in promoting Chinese culture and artistic excellence to broad audiences across the UK.
